Latent TB – are you at risk?

Latent TB is a bug that can sleep in your body often for many years without making you ill. If latent TB does activate then you will become ill with TB. You are at risk of having Latent TB if you have lived in any of these countries where TB is very common and;

* Are aged between 16 and 35 years

* Came to live in the UK in the last five years

* Have previously lived in one of the at-risk countries shown or have visited one of these countries in the last six months and have not been tested or treated for TB before

If you think you might be at risk of latent TB you may be able to be screened at the practice. To find out more please ask to speak to one of our Healthcare Assistants.
